The Last Stretch – Final drums sesh & hardcore backvocals
Lots of really great, really incredible stuff has been happening over the past weeks.
Over this past weekend, the last drums recording session finally happened. Apple Seeds and Alive are being taken care of very, very well. I am so grateful that Jeremy Turowetz of Shaking Judy was available to play drums for those 2 songs. The songs sound great, they got the groove they deserve. Simon will be taking care of the bass and the guitars on both songs, and that's to come in the next few days.
Jeremy Turowetz is everything a drummer should be, and I don't think I've ever seen a happier-looking man behind a drum kit. He masters the rock like no one else, and then added his groove to make two slick, sexy beats for the 2 songs. I daresay this is just the beginning of many collaborations between Turowetz and Robshaw.
And last week, Tyler Black, the lead singer from the band Pretty Little Death Machine came down from Ottawa to record amazing hardcore backvocals on Colours Forever, The Warrior, and Of the Carrion. I couldn't believe how right I had been about giving those hardcore bvs a chance, and these songs are as powerful as they should sound now. Black brought in all his wild-power-rock-and-roll madness and gave these songs everything he could. The results are stunning.
This record is a collection of the most precious collaborations I have experienced in my life so far. Infinite Gratitude.
And Simon and I realized that in a month, we'll be listening to the first mixes.
That's incredible.
1339 Crowder's End is taking us somewhere astouding. We keep following.
